Reporting to the Training Supervisor the Trainer will be devoted primarily to providing staff with skills and knowledge of quality child welfare practice. The Trainer will ensure efficient and effective daily operation by providing and facilitating administrative, educative and supportive services to new and seasoned staff. The Training Department delivers foundation and in-service training dictated by a training plan created each fiscal year. The position will provide support to ACS/DYFJ/JSA leadership, and external consultants to assure good communication and the timeliness of deliverables. Responsibilities of this position include: â€¢ The Trainer should be a champion of strength based practice and training, and knowledgeable on current NYC child welfare practice and policy. â€¢ Supervising and coaching of new and seasoned agency staff. â€¢ Expertise in competencies for child welfare practice and the ability to coach and develop staff. â€¢ Collaborate in all aspects of the training departments work: including scheduling, administrative tasks and quality improvement. â€¢ Have significant experience in training various components of the CW Core Training Program. â€¢ Being able to model skills, and provide evaluative and developmental feedback to participants. â€¢ Work closely with ACSâ€™, DYFJ and Close To Home to develop, coordinate and implement training for frontline staff and supervisors. â€¢ Participate in assignments as needed and attend trainings and meetings as indicated.
Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent; preferably a Master’s Degree in the fields of public administration, business management, environmental planning, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of full time satisfactory professional experience in the field of environmental health and safety.
Experience overseeing large teams of staff and vendors performing multiple different types of work at a fast pace.
